The Samruddhi Mahamarg, officially designated Maharashtra Expressway 2 (ME-2), stands as Maharashtra’s longest access-controlled expressway, establishing a vital high-speed transportation corridor connecting Mumbai and Nagpur. Spanning the breadth of the state, this landmark infrastructure development significantly enhances connectivity between eastern and western Maharashtra. As part of this prestigious project, Savi Infra was entrusted with delivering a specialised retaining wall solution along a critical 1.4 km stretch of the expressway. Featuring retaining heights ranging from 8 m to 12 m, the project demanded a structurally efficient solution capable of supporting elevated main carriageway sections while accommodating gap slabs at the interface with adjoining bridge structures. With stringent construction timelines and demanding structural requirements, the project presented significant challenges in achieving rapid execution without compromising structural integrity, construction quality or the seamless integration of roadway and bridge infrastructure.
Graviloft Technology provided an innovative retaining solution that combined structural efficiency with exceptional construction speed, enabling the rapid development of elevated highway infrastructure. Its engineered structural configuration offered the necessary strength and stability to accommodate gap slabs supported at the top of the retaining walls, facilitating a seamless transition between the retained roadway embankment and adjoining bridge structures. Leveraging Graviloft’s streamlined construction methodology and systematic execution processes, Savi Infra achieved concrete placement rates of up to 400 m³ per day, with construction activities progressing across hundreds of metres of wall alignment daily. This accelerated approach enabled the entire 1.4 km retaining wall scope to be successfully completed within just eight months, demonstrating the technology’s capability to meet demanding infrastructure schedules while maintaining structural performance and construction efficiency. The project stands as a significant milestone in Graviloft’s portfolio, showcasing its versatility in accommodating specialised structural requirements and delivering large-scale retaining solutions at an exceptional pace for one of Maharashtra’s most ambitious transportation developments.
