The Chandani Chowk development stands as a testament to Graviloft Technology’s capabilities in overcoming complex urban engineering challenges. Located at one of Pune’s busiest transportation junctions, the project involved extensive main carriageway widening, approach ramps and service roads within a highly constrained and continuously operational highway corridor. Spanning approximately 2.7 km, with retaining wall heights ranging from 3 m to 17 m, the project demanded an innovative solution capable of accommodating substantial elevation differences while operating within severe spatial limitations. Conventional retaining structures presented significant challenges due to their extensive foundation footprints, excavation requirements and construction complexities.

Graviloft’s exceptionally compact structural geometry enabled critical roadway expansion within the restricted available space, minimising interference with existing infrastructure while optimising land utilisation. Its streamlined construction methodology further facilitated efficient execution, reducing excavation requirements, material consumption and construction-related disruptions along this vital transportation corridor. By combining structural efficiency, spatial optimisation and practical constructability, Graviloft provided a cost-effective retaining solution where conventional alternatives faced considerable limitations. The project represents a significant milestone in Graviloft’s contribution to urban infrastructure, demonstrating how innovative engineering can overcome challenging site constraints and enable the development of essential transportation infrastructure in densely developed environments.
